Like others, I purchased Bitdefender Antivirus 2009 because of positive reviews. I have not used it long, but there are already issues, notably trojans that reportedly could not be removed and yet no explanation was offered, and the need to reinstall when the shield aspect of the program ceased to function. I was treated very strangely by email "support". I would get one response asking for more information and then never hear from them again. When the program once again failed, I asked for a prorated refund and cancellation of my subscription. Again, one reply asking for more information and then I never heard from them again. This site's review claims that there is live chat and a phone number--I'm sure these exist if it says they do, but I certainly could not find any note of them on Bitdefender's site. Then I tried to uninstall the program and it would not uninstall. For now, the program is mysteriously working again, though my question about previously undeleted viruses remains unanswered. To my mind, customer support is the most important aspect of a complex program such as an antivirus program. You're better off paying more money for a company that truly, readily offers it.
